The O-Shot Amplification procedure is the latest trend to hit the field of Sexual Aesthetics. Used primarily to rejuvenate the vagina, it has a whole host of benefits.
The procedure revolves around the use of Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy. A tube of the patient’s blood is drawn prior to the procedure and placed in a centrifuge to separate the Platelet-Rich plasma from the blood. It is important to note that the type of centrifuge used is pivotal when it comes to determining the success of the procedure. At the EMPIRE Centre for Regenerative Medicine, we use the Harvest Smartprep Centrifuge by Terumo. Being the market leader in terms of consistently delivering a high yield of platelets per micro litre of blood, it ensures that Dr Jennifer Jose is able to deliver the best outcome for the patient.
The PRP is then injected in various areas of the vagina, such as the clitoris and the upper vaginal area. The PRP starts to work immediately as the growth factors start rejuvenating the tissues in that area. Through angiogenesis, new blood vessels form in the area, making the area more sensitive to touch.
This procedure is also perfect for women who experience pain during intercourse due to lack of proper natural lubrication. The lubrication of the vagina is triggered by the flow of blood towards the area during arousal. As the PRP causes new blood vessels to form, the vagina now lubricates readily.
Another ‘side effect’ of the O-Shot Amplification would be the pinkish hue seen on the clitoris stemming from the new blood vessels formed by the PRP.
Dr Jennifer Jose is the first doctor in Manila and the Philippines to offer this procedure which she mastered during her training in Rome and Turkey under the pioneers of the O-Shot amplification procedure.
Procedure
The entire procedure takes 45 minutes, with the bulk of the time spent waiting for the centrifugation of the PRP. A vial of blood is extracted from the patient after which the patient is prepped. Dr Jennifer Jose then administers the PRP injection after which the patient is immediately able to return to normal activities. Due to the duration and lack of downtime, this procedure is often referred to as a ‘lunch-time fix’ procedure.
