Clitoral Hood Reduction or Clitoral Hoodectomy is a procedure to correct the excess skin on the sides of the clitoris. The excess skin might cause the clitoris to look enlarged or disproportionate. This condition can be caused by congenital problems or testosterone exposure.

This condition might cause women to be frustration or at times insecure about the exterior appearance of their vagina and clitoris. Functionally, it might cause discomfort when they wear a bathing suit or tight clothes as it increases friction in the area surrounding the clitoris.

Not to mention, the female clitoris is pivotal for most women in achieving an orgasm. Many studies conducted have revealed that a high percentage of women are unable to achieve an orgasm or sexual gratification without stimulating their clitoris.

Procedure

The patient is put under mild sedation during procedure, which does not last more than 1 hour. There is a downtime of 2-3 weeks before the patient returns to normal activities.
